What makes me different from other driving instructors and why should you choose me? Let me tell you a little about myself and my approach to driving lessons and how Driving Leeds came about...

My name is Nick, and I am 31. I am a family man with a wife and young son. We moved to Leeds in April 2008 and I have been giving driving tuition in Leeds since then.

My first job was in customer services for a major bank. I quickly learned that I was a real 'people' person and enjoyed the challenge of problem solving. I soon realized though that office life wasn't for me and being young and wanting to see the world, my wife and I decided to leave it all behind and live and travel for a year in South East Asia.

After this amazing experience it was impossible for me to go back to the office and I felt like I needed to work in a place where I could put my people skills to good use!

For the next eight years I worked in the care industry as a support worker. Firstly with adults with mental health issues and personality disorders and then I moved on to working with blind and partially sighted young adults with learning disabilities.

Its not work for everyone and definitely takes a certain type of person who is able to be caring and patient, a good listener, a good teacher and someone who is genuinely interested in people.

All qualities which lend themselves well to driving instructing I believe!

So how did I get into Driving Instructing?

I was looking for a new challenge and as you know I am not keen on office work. I decided to have a complete change, become self employed, put my people skills to good use, and here I am.

My philosophy when it comes to teaching is to ensure you are relaxed and enjoy your lessons. I am very up to date on all the latest teaching methods and I believe myself to be an excellent teacher.

It is very important to choose an instructor that you feel comfortable with and that you can work alongside, I do my absolute best to be approachable and friendly and to put you at ease.
